A RESOLUTION concerning

"Tolson Street Park"

FOR the purpose of designating certain City of Annapolis-owned property as a Mini-Park; naming the Mini-Park at the northeast end of Tolson Street the "Tolson Street Park"; and generally relating to park amenities.

WHEREAS, the City of Annapolis is working to create green space and Mini-Parks accessible to the general public commonly known as a "pocket park" and/or street end parks; and

WHEREAS, the City of Annapolis is currently preparing its first-ever Public Water Access Plan to expand and improve equitable public water access; and

WHEREAS, Weems Creek, on which the proposed park is located, currently offers the least amount of public water access among the City's major creeks.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE ANNAPOLIS CITY COUNCIL that the City-owned property located at the northeast end of Tolson Street, across Monterey Avenue, between 311 Monterey Avenue and 401 Monterey Avenue, in Ward 2 of Annapolis, Maryland, be designated a Mini-Park and named "Tolson Street Park."

AND, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY THE ANNAPOLIS CITY COUNCIL that two benches be installed on the Pocket Park, a marker, and any other park amenities as approved by the City Council, with the understanding that future public water access to Weems Creek from Tolson Street Park will be provided contingent upon its feasibility.

AND, BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED BY THE ANNAPOLIS CITY COUNCIL that such Mini-Park dedication shall take effect upon the passage of this Resolution.
