A RESOLUTION concerning
Fines Related to City Code § 14.04.060, Clearing Sidewalks of Snow, Sleet, and Ice
FOR the purpose of updating the Fiscal Year 2027 Fines Schedule, Section 14.04.060, “Clearing sidewalks of snow, sleet, and ice” to include fines for failing to clear sidewalks after a weather event; and corrections to related Fines Schedule sections.
WHEREAS, O-24-26 amends §§ 14.04.060 and 14.04.070 of the City Code to change the time allowed to clear snow, sleet, and ice from sidewalks, require a notice of violation, and authorize the City to clear a sidewalk that remains uncleared;
WHEREAS, § 14.04.070 of the City Code provides that a violation of Chapter 14.04 is a municipal infraction subject to a fine established by resolution of the City Council;
WHEREAS, The Fiscal Year 2027 Fines Schedule refers to § 14.04.050(B), which does not exist in the City Code, and to § 14.04.070(B)(1), which Ordinance O-24-26 repeals; and
WHEREAS, The City Council establishes the fine for a violation of § 14.04.060 by this resolution;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE ANNAPOLIS CITY COUNCIL that the Fiscal Year 2027 Fines Schedule shall be repealed and reenacted as follows:

AND BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED BY THE ANNAPOLIS CITY COUNCIL that this resolution shall take effect on the later of its passage or the date O-24-26 takes effect.
