AN ORDINANCE concerning

Annapolis Harbor Lines at 423 Chester Avenue on Back Creek

 

FOR                     the purpose of changing the Annapolis harbor line on Back Creek at 423 Chester Avenue in the vicinity of the Safe Harbor Annapolis piers; and matters generally related to harbor lines.

 

BY                     repealing and reenacting with amendments the amendments the maps entitled “Annapolis Harbor Lines” as referenced in Section 15.18.020 of the Code of the City of Annapolis, 2024 Edition.

 

WHEREAS,                      Title 15 of the City Code regulates the location of piers, moorings, wharves, bulkheads, and the configuration of shoreline development within the developable waterway area; and

 

WHEREAS,                      Harbor lines define the maximum channelward limits of marine construction for a given developable waterway area, and are graphically shown on the City of Annapolis' “Annapolis Harbor Lines” maps; and

 

WHEREAS,                      The Annapolis City Council has amended the “Annapolis Harbor Lines” maps several times over the years; and

 

WHEREAS,                      The proposed amendment to the "Annapolis Harbor Lines" maps relating to the harbor line on Back Creek at 423 Chester Avenue is illustrated in Exhibit A, which is attached to this ordinance, incorporated herein, and made a part of it. The exhibit displays both the current harbor lines and the proposed new harbor lines.

 

SECTION I:                     BE IT ESTABLISHED AND ORDAINED BY THE ANNAPOLIS CITY COUNCIL that the “Annapolis Harbor Lines” maps hall be amended with the revised harbor line on Back Creek at 423 Chester Avenue as depicted on Exhibit A.

 

SECTION II: AND BE IT FURTHER ESTABLISHED AND ORDAINED BY THE ANNAPOLIS CITY COUNCIL that this ordinance shall take effect upon passage.
