A RESOLUTION concerning
Itinerant Merchant Sales in the Historic District - 2020
FOR the purpose of authorizing hawker, peddler, and itinerant merchant sales in the Historic District as part of certain special events during calendar year 2020.
WHEREAS, Section 7.40.090 of the City Code allows itinerant merchant sales as part of a special event that is organized by a business association that has a principal place of business within the City of Annapolis that represents commercial enterprises in the immediate area of the proposed operation; and
WHEREAS, certain special events proposed for the Historic District are not organized by local business associations that have requested itinerant merchant sales; and
WHEREAS, Section 7.40.090.H of the City Code allows the City Council to designate certain dates and times on which hawkers, peddlers and itinerant merchants may sell in the Historic District as part of certain special events.
NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE ANNAPOLIS CITY COUNCIL that sales of merchandise in the Historic District are allowed in conjunction with the following special events and in the geographic location of these special events:
• St. Patrick’s Day Parade - Susan Campbell Park - March 8, 2020
• Four Rivers Garden Club Flowers Sale - Hopkins Plaza - April 30, 2020
• City Dock Tango - Susan Campbell Park - May 8, June 12, July 10, August 14, September 11, 2020
• City Dock Salsa - Susan Campbell Park - May 31, June 21, July 26, August 30, 2020
• “Dueling Brushes” Paint Annapolis - Susan Campbell Park, June 7, 2020
• Race Across America - Susan Campbell Park, June 23-29, 2020
• Summer Concert Series - Susan Campbell Park, June-September, 2020
• Kunta Kinte Heritage Festival - Susan Campbell Park and adjacent parking, September 26, 2020
• Maritime Republic of Eastport Tug of War - Susan Campbell Park, November 7, 2020
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY THE ANNAPOLIS CITY COUNCIL that this resolution shall take effect from the date of its passage.
