FOR the purpose of establishing that a license for peddlers, hawkers, and itinerant merchants pursuant to Chapter 7.40 of the Annapolis City Code is not required from 2016 through 2019 for the United States Sailboat Show, Inc./United States Powerboat Show, Inc. and for Cruisers University, Inc. in association with leases signed with the City of Annapolis.
WHEREAS, the City has entered into a series of leases with United States Sailboat Show, Inc./United States Powerboat Show, Inc. and Cruisers University, Inc. for the lease of certain property at the City Dock area for boat shows to be held from fall 2016 through spring 2019; and
WHEREAS, on July 25, 2016, the Annapolis City Council passed Ordinance 8-16 amending the requirements related to a license for peddlers, hawkers, and itinerant merchants pursuant to Chapter 7.40 of the Annapolis City Code; and
WHEREAS, a license for peddlers, hawkers, and itinerant merchants is not required pursuant to Chapter 7.40.020.A.13 on those days of the year and at those places and times as are designated from time to time by resolution or ordinance of the Annapolis City Council.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE ANNAPOLIS CITY COUNCIL that a license for peddlers, hawkers, and itinerant merchants pursuant to Chapter 7.40 of the Annapolis City Code shall not be required for the following entities, days, places and times:
• Cruisers University, Inc., City Dock Area, 2017 Spring Boat Show, as further described in a lease with the City of Annapolis dated May 27, 2016 and approved by the Annapolis City Council pursuant to Ordinance 04-16.
• Cruisers University, Inc., City Dock Area, 2018 Spring Boat Show, as further described in a lease with the City of Annapolis dated May 27, 2016 and approved by the Annapolis City Council pursuant to Ordinance 05-16.
• Cruisers University, Inc., City Dock Area, 2019 Spring Boat Show, as further described in a lease with the City of Annapolis dated May 27, 2016 and approved by the Annapolis City Council pursuant to Ordinance 06-16.
• United States Sailboat Show, Inc./United States Powerboat Show, Inc., City Dock Area, 2016 Fall Boat Show, as further described in a lease with the City of Annapolis dated May 9, 2011 and approved by the Annapolis City Council pursuant to Ordinance 06-11.
• United States Sailboat Show, Inc./United States Powerboat Show, Inc., City Dock Area, 2017 Fall Boat Show, as further described in a lease with the City of Annapolis dated April 20, 2012 and approved by the Annapolis City Council pursuant to Ordinance 03-12.
• United States Sailboat Show, Inc./United States Powerboat Show, Inc., City Dock Area, 2018 Fall Boat Show, as further described in a lease with the City of Annapolis dated November 21, 2013 and approved by the Annapolis City Council pursuant to Ordinance 23-13.
• United States Sailboat Show, Inc./United States Powerboat Show, Inc., City Dock Area, 2019 Fall Boat Show, as further described in a lease with the City of Annapolis dated December 7, 2015 and approved by the Annapolis City Council pursuant to Ordinance 44-15.
AND BE IT FURTHER ESTABLISHED AND ORDAINED BY THE ANNAPOLIS CITY COUNCIL that this resolution shall take effect from the date of its passage.
