A RESOLUTION concerning

Director of Finance--Brittany Moran

 

FOR                     the purpose of expressly confirming the appointment of Brittany Moran as Director of Finance; and consenting to compensate the Finance Director

 

WHEREAS,                     Pursuant to § 3.08.030(F), the appointment and initial salary of the Director of Finance is subject to confirmation by the City Council; and

 

WHEREAS,                      Brittany Moran is coming to the City of Annapolis from the Town of Chesapeake Beach, Maryland, where she served as the town treasurer and developed a strong background in public finance management, including city funds, bonds, loans, and both long- and short-term investments; and managed payroll, reconciled accounts, handled accounts payable and receivable, and collected taxes, fees, and revenues; and

 

WHEREAS,                     Tricia Hopkins, Human Resources Manager of the City of Annapolis, conducted a thorough review of Ms. Moran’s qualifications and determined in her professional opinion that Ms. Moran’s qualifications exceed the minimum requirements of the Annapolis Charter and that Ms. Moran, by virtue of her background, education and experience, is more than qualified to hold the position of Director of Finances; and

 

WHEREAS,                     Pursuant to the foregoing City Code provision, the City Council is required to expressly consent to the confirmation and compensation of the Director of Finance.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE ANNAPOLIS CITY COUNCIL that Tricia Hopkins, Human Resources Manager of the City of Annapolis, conducted a thorough review of Ms. Moran’s qualifications and determined in her professional opinion that Ms. Moran’s qualifications exceed the minimum requirements of the Annapolis Charter and that Ms. Moran, by virtue of her background, education, and experience, is more than qualified to hold the position of Director of Finance.

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY THE ANNAPOLIS CITY COUNCIL that the City Council expressly confirms the appointment of Ms. Moran to the position of Director of Finance and consents to compensate Ms. Moran as Director of Finance in the amount of $179,772 per annum.
