A RESOLUTION concerning
Fiscal Year 2027 Fines Schedule - Update for O-18-26, Expanding Tree Protection and Replacement in the Critical Area Overlay District
FOR the purpose of establishing fines for tree removal and related violations in the Critical Area pursuant to O-18-26, Expanding Tree Protection and Replacement in the Critical Area Overlay District; and updating the fine for unapproved demolition of a building in § 17.05.010 to conform to State law.
WHEREAS, Pursuant to Chapter 1.20 (General Penalty and Municipal Infractions) of the City Code, fines are authorized in the City Code and established by resolution of the City Council; and
WHEREAS, Section 21.54.190(A) of the City Code, as amended by O-18-26, provides that fines required for violations of Chapter 21.54 are established by the City Council in the annual Fines Schedule; and
WHEREAS, The City Council seeks to establish fines for tree removal and related violations under O-18-26 and to conform the fine for unapproved demolition of a building in § 17.05.010 to the State limit;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE ANNAPOLIS CITY COUNCIL that the Fiscal Year 2027 Fines Schedule shall be amended as follows:

AND BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED BY THE ANNAPOLIS CITY COUNCIL that the fines for violations of Chapter 21.54 shall take effect on the date O-18-26 takes effect, and the amendment to § 17.05.010 shall take effect on passage of this Resolution.
