AN ORDINANCE concerning
Special Residential Parking Districts - Permit Renewals
FOR the purpose of changing when Special Residential Parking District permits need to be renewed; and generally related to parking district fee criteria.
BY repealing and reenacting with amendments the following portions of the Code of the City of Annapolis, 2024 Edition
12.32.110
SECTION I: BE IT ESTABLISHED AND ORDAINED BY THE ANNAPOLIS CITY COUNCIL that the Code of the City of Annapolis shall be amended to read as follows:
Title 12 - VEHICLES AND TRAFFIC
Chapter 12.32 - Special Residential Parking Districts
Section 12.32.110 - Permit--Fee--Renewal.
A. Fee Established. The fee for a residential parking permit in special residential parking districts shall be established by resolution of the City Council.
B. The fee shall be payable at the time of the submission of the application for the permit. The permit year shall commence on July 1st and terminate on June 30th. The fee shall be prorated based on the number of months that a resident requires the permit from the date of issue to the end of the fiscal year based on the number of months that a resident requires a permit. However, the City shall not refund any permit issued due to disuse.
Fee Requirements.
1. The fee shall be payable at the time of the submission of the application for the permit.
2. The permit year shall commence on July 1st and terminate on June 30th.
The fee shall be prorated based on the number of months that a resident requires the permit from the date of issue to the end of the fiscal year based on the number of months that a resident requires a permit.
Permits are valid for one year, starting at the permit issuance date.
3. The City shall not refund any permit issued due to disuse.
SECTION II: AND BE IT FURTHER ESTABLISHED AND ORDAINED BY THE ANNAPOLIS CITY COUNCIL that this ordinance shall take effect upon passage.
