A RESOLUTION concerning

Submission of Grant Application to the Maryland Transit Administration

 

FOR                     the purpose of authorizing the filing of an application with the Maryland Transit Administration of the Maryland Department of Transportation for Section 5303, 5304, 5307, 5309, 5310, 5311, 5316 and/or 5317 grant(s) under the Federal Transit Act for a total amount of  $4,462,240.

 

WHEREAS,                     To receive Federal Transit Act grants for public transportation programs or projects, the City of Annapolis must apply to the Maryland Transit Administration; and

 

WHEREAS,                     The City is requesting of  $4,462,240 which includes:

                     $3,270,740 for fixed route transit operations;

                     $308,234 for ADA complementary paratransit services;

                     $789,936 capital grant for transit vehicle maintenance;

                     $72,250 for one set of mobile lift columns;

                     $21,080 for office furnishings; and

 

WHEREAS,                     The contract for financial assistance will impose certain obligations upon the City which may include the requirement that the City provide the local share of the project costs.

 

 

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE ANNAPOLIS CITY COUNCIL that:

1.                     The submission of the application referred to above is hereby endorsed, and the Council thereby indicates approval thereof; and

2.                     A copy of this resolution be sent to the Maryland Transit Administration of the Maryland Department of Transportation. 

 

AND BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED BY THE ANNAPOLIS CITY COUNCIL that this resolution shall take effect upon passage.
