AN ORDINANCE concerning
Special Residential Parking Districts – District Lettering
FOR the purpose of re-identifying the special residential parking districts established under Chapter 12.32 by letter rather than number.
BY repealing and enacting with amendments the following portions of the Code of the City of Annapolis, 2026 Edition:
Section 12.32.150 (District 1)
Section 12.32.160 (District 2)
Section 12.32.170 (District 3)
Section 12.32.180 (District 4)
Section 12.32.181 (District 5)
WHEREAS, Chapter 12.32 of the Code of the City of Annapolis establishes five special residential parking districts, which are historically identified by number in the Code; and
WHEREAS, The numbered identifiers for special residential parking districts in Title 12, a special parking tax district under Title 6, and city wards in Title 1 can cause confusion for residents, city staff, and members of the public.
WHEREAS, Re-identifying the special residential parking districts established under Chapter 12.32 by letter will distinguish the parking districts from the tax district and election wards without changing boundaries, streets, or eligibility criteria of any special residential parking district.
SECTION I: BE IT ESTABLISHED AND ORDAINED BY THE ANNAPOLIS CITY COUNCIL that the Code of the City of Annapolis shall be amended to read as follows:
