A RESOLUTION concerning

Friendship City Relationship with Frankston, Australia

FOR the purpose of authorizing a friendship city relationship between Annapolis, Maryland and Frankston, in the State of Victoria, Australia.

WHEREAS, The City of Annapolis, Maryland, United States of America, is a historic and vibrant city renowned for its unique maritime heritage, its role as the capital of Maryland, and its exceptional commitment to fostering international understanding and cooperation; and
WHEREAS, The City of Frankston, Victoria, Australia, is a dynamic and thriving city located on the beautiful shores of Port Phillip Bay, celebrated for its arts and culture, its stunning beaches, and its dedication to community development; and
WHEREAS, Both Annapolis and Frankston share commonalities in their coastal locations, their emphasis on community engagement, their appreciation for the arts and cultural exchange; and
WHEREAS, A friendship city relationship between Annapolis and Frankston would not only provide opportunities for mutual benefit through cultural, educational, economic, and social exchanges but also enhance the global standing of both cities; and
WHEREAS, A friendship city relationship provides opportunities for connection and sharing that will provide insights into the cultural, social, environmental and economic life of each jurisdiction without imposing formal obligations or costs on either; and
WHEREAS, Fostering international friendships and understanding is not just vital for promoting global peace and cooperation but also for shaping a more interconnected and harmonious world; and
