A RESOLUTION concerning
Dinner Under the Stars
FOR the purpose of authorizing on-street dining in the first block of West Street on Wednesday nights from July 13 through September 21, 2016.
WHEREAS, Section 7.40.090 of the City Code allows the City Council to designate certain days when peddlers, hawkers and itinerant merchants may sell in the Historic District or a nonresidential area; and
WHEREAS, The Inner West Street Business Association wishes to host “Dinner Under the Stars” on the block of West Street between Church Circle and Calvert Street on Wednesday nights during the summer; and
WHEREAS, Dining al fresco has proven popular and successful in many other venues, most notably in Media, PA; and
WHEREAS, The Inner West Street Business Association has obtained the consent and participation of restaurants and other businesses in that block; and
WHEREAS, The Special Events Coordinator for the City of Annapolis has determined the street closures requested will not unduly interfere with public transportation and safety.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE ANNAPOLIS CITY COUNCIL that the Inner West Street Business Association is authorized by the City Council to conduct vendor sales inside the Historic District on the block of West Street between Church Circle and Calvert Street on July 13, 20, 27, August 3, 10, 17, 24, 31, September 7, 14, 21 as described in the accompanying Staff Report.
