AN ORDINANCE concerning

Bonded Employees

FOR the purpose of providing that as a substitute for a bond, the City Council may authorize the City to insure the Director of Finance and the Assistant Director for Accounting under a Government Crime Policy.

BY repealing and re-enacting with amendments the following portions of the Code of the City of Annapolis, 2015 Edition

2.20.020

SECTION I: BE IT ESTABLISHED AND ORDAINED BY THE ANNAPOLIS CITY COUNCIL that the Code of the City of Annapolis shall be amended to read as follows:

Chapter 2.20 - DIRECTOR OF FINANCE

Section 2.20.010 - Bond.

Before the Director of Finance enters upon the discharge of the duties of the office, the director shall give bond to the City with a corporate surety to be approved by the City Council, in the penal sum of one hundred thousand dollars, conditioned upon the faithful discharge of the duties of the office. The premium for the bond shall be paid by the City. The City Council at any time may demand of the Director of Finance other or further bond, with other or further security, as in its judgment the interest of the City requires. IN THE ALTERNATIVE, AND AS A SUBSTITUTE FOR A BOND, THE CITY COUNCIL MAY AUTHORIZE THE CITY TO INSURE THE DIRECTOR OF FINANCE UNDER A GOVERNMENT CRIME POLICY.

Section 2.20.020 - Assistant Director for Accounting.
