Financial Advisory Commission Duties
FOR the purpose of listing the duties of the Financial Advisory Commission, adding "spending affordability" to review the City's finances so that spending levels align with the City's income, and reviewing projected revenue, debt levels, and long-term fiscal outlook; and generally related to the Financial Advisory Commission.
BY repealing and reenacting with amendments the following portions of the Code of the City of Annapolis, 2025 Edition:

SECTION I: BE IT ESTABLISHED AND ORDAINED BY THE ANNAPOLIS CITY COUNCIL that the Code of the City of Annapolis shall be amended to read as follows:
Title 2 - ADMINISTRATION
Chapter 2.48 - BOARDS, COMMISSIONS AND COMMITTEES
Article IV - Financial Advisory Commission
Section 2.48.110 Established-Duties.
There is established a Financial Advisory Commission, which may advise the Mayor and Aldermen/Alderwomen on financial issues. These issues shall include, but not be limited to, the review of collective bargaining agreements prior to execution and an annual report on the amount of public debt the City may incur without jeopardizing its bond rating. In carrying out its duties, the Commission may retain consultants, as permitted by the budget.
