AN ORDINANCE concerning
Elections - Absentee Ballot Application
FOR the purpose of amending Chapter 4.28 of the Code of the City of Annapolis concerning the deadline for filing an application for an absentee ballot.
BY repealing and re-enacting with amendments the following portions of the Code of the City of Annapolis, 2015 Edition
4.28.040
SECTION I: BE IT ESTABLISHED AND ORDAINED BY THE ANNAPOLIS CITY COUNCIL that the Code of the City of Annapolis shall be amended to read as follows:
Chapter 4.28 - ABSENTEE VOTING
4.28.040 - Application - Required.
Except for persons who become eligible to cast an emergency absentee ballot, a qualified voter desiring to vote at any election as an absentee voter shall make application in writing to the board for an absentee ballot, and the application must be received not later than the close of business TuesdayFRIDAY preceding the election.
SECTION II: AND BE IT FURTHER ESTABLISHED AND ORDAINED BY THE ANNAPOLIS CITY COUNCIL that this ordinance shall take effect from the date of its passage.
