A ORDINANCE concerning

Lease of City Property to Chesapeake Children's Museum

FOR the purpose of approving a lease between the City of Annapolis and the Chesapeake Children's Museum for a portion of the City-owned building located at 25 Silopanna Road, Annapolis, Maryland; and all other matters related to said lease with the Chesapeake Children's Museum.

WHEREAS, the City is the fee simple owner of an improved parcel of land located at 25 Silopanna Road, Annapolis, Maryland and more accurately described in a deed recorded at Liber 4881, folio 076 among the Land Records of Anne Arundel County (the "Property"); and

WHEREAS, the Property is improved with a building (the "Building"), and the City has space therein to lease; and

WHEREAS, the Tenant leased approximately Two Thousand One Hundred Ninety-One (2,191) +/- square feet of the Building, which includes the common areas, and shared use of certain areas in the Building (collectively, the "Premises"), pursuant to an Amended Lease Agreement dated September 25, 2006 ("Amended Lease Agreement") for the purpose of housing the Chesapeake Children's Museum; and

WHEREAS, the Amended Lease Agreement expired on June 30, 2011, but the City has permitted the Tenant to continue leasing the Premises on a month-to-month basis under the same terms of the Amended Lease Agreement; and
