AN ORDINANCE concerning

Nonstandard Vehicles Definition

FOR the purpose of amending the definition of Nonstandard Vehicles to include all such vehicles including pedicabs and for-hire Segways.

BY repealing and re-enacting with amendments the following portions of the Code of the City of Annapolis, 2013 Edition
Section 12.54.010

WHEREAS, Article 2.48.320 of the Code of the City of Annapolis confers upon the Transportation Board of the City of Annapolis the duty to advise the City Council on the implementation of the transportation master plan and improvement of City transportation and traffic conditions; and

WHEREAS, the Transportation Board recommends that the Code of the City of Annapolis should encompass all for-hire nonstandard vehicles, including pedicabs and for-hire Segways; and

WHEREAS, the Transportation Board seeks to further strengthen the protections for established and abiding for-hire operators from outsiders wishing to operate illegally within the City limits; and

WHEREAS, the Transportation Board desires to further support the flexibility necessary going forward as the landscape of the transportation options changes while also being cognizant and encouraging of creative, entrepreneurial, and alternative means of mobility for the City of Annapolis; and

WHEREAS, the Transportation Board of the City of Annapolis voted unanimously at its January 28, 2015 meeting to recommend the following changes to the Code of the City of Annapolis:
