AN ORDINANCE concerning

Amending the Composition of the Maritime Advisory Board

FOR the purpose of replacing the Chair of the Annapolis Conservancy Board with a representative of the maritime industry to serve on the Maritime Advisory Board.

BY repealing and re-enacting with amendments the following portions of the Code of the City of Annapolis, 2015 Edition
Section 2.48.240

WHEREAS, Pursuant to Section 2.48.240 of the Annapolis City Code, the composition of the Maritime Advisory Board includes the Chair of the Annapolis Conservancy Board; and

WHEREAS, The Chair of the Annapolis Conservancy Board does not regularly attend meetings of the Maritime Advisory Board;

WHEREAS, The Chairs of both Boards have requested that the Chair of the Annapolis Conservancy Board be removed from serving on the Maritime Advisory Board.

NOW THEREFORE

SECTION I: BE IT ESTABLISHED AND ORDAINED BY THE ANNAPOLIS CITY COUNCIL that the Code of the City of Annapolis shall be amended to read as follows:

CHAPTER 2.48 - BOARDS, COMMISSIONS AND COMMITTEES
ARTICLE VIII - MARITIME ADVISORY BOARD

2.48.240 Composition and terms.

A. The Maritime Advisory Board consists of eleven members:

1. Seven EIGHT members representing the maritime industry, three of whom shall employ no more than twenty people;

2. The chair of the Annapolis Conservancy Board or designee;

3. 2.The Aldermen representing wards 1, 7, and 8 which contain the maritime zoning districts, or such persons employed in the maritime business as ...
