A RESOLUTION concerning

Anne St. Clair Wright Legacy Tablet

FOR the purpose of accepting a bequest from the late Alderman Richard E. Israel and approving a matching allocation of City funds to be used to establish an outside Tablet in honor of Anne St. Clair Wright.

WHEREAS, on or about June 23, 2015, Alderman Richard E. Israel made a bequest in the First Codicil to his Last Will and Testament of $1,000 to the Heritage Commission of the City of Annapolis as partial funding to establish a Tablet in honor of the late Anne St. Clair Wright; and

WHEREAS, a condition of the bequest is that the City of Annapolis match the $1,000 legacy to provide adequate funding to establish said commemorative Tablet; and

WHEREAS, Anne St. Clair Wright championed the preservation movement in Annapolis, Maryland from the very first meeting of the Historic Annapolis Foundation until her death in 1993. Mrs. Wright saved numerous historically significant buildings while educating the public on Annapolis' history. Her tenacity and loyalty to preserving historic Annapolis made it the living museum and tourist destination it is today; and

WHEREAS, The Heritage Commission is charged with advising on and facilitating the development of programs and activities that increase public awareness, appreciation and preservation of the cultural heritage of the City of Annapolis; and
