A RESOLUTION concerning

 

“Pip and Zastrow” Legacy Tablet

 

FOR                     the purpose of accepting a bequest from the late Alderman Richard E. Israel and approving a matching allocation of City funds to be used to purchase and install an outside Tablet in honor of former Mayor Roger W. (Pip) Moyer and Joseph Zastrow Simms.

 

WHEREAS,                     on or about June 23, 2015, Alderman Richard E. Israel made a bequest in the First Codicil to his Last Will and Testament of $1,000 to the City of Annapolis as partial funding to establish a Tablet in honor of former Mayor Roger W. (Pip) Moyer and Joseph Zastrow Simms; and

 

WHEREAS,                     a condition of the $1,000 bequest is that the City of Annapolis shall contribute up to $1,000 to jointly fund the acquisition and installation of said commemorative Tablet; and

 

WHEREAS,                     the Annapolis City Council wishes to express its gratitude in accepting this generous bequest and acknowledges its willingness to jointly fund the commemorative “Pip and Zastrow” Legacy Tablet.

 

NOW THEREFORE,

 

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE ANNAPOLIS CITY COUNCIL that the $1,000 bequest from the late Alderman Richard E. Israel is hereby accepted, and a matching allocation of City funds up to $1,000 is hereby approved to be used to purchase and install an outside Tablet in honor of former Mayor Roger W. (Pip) Moyer and Joseph Zastrow Simms.  Said funds shall be reflected as an expendable trust on the City’s accounting records.

 

AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY THE ANNAPOLIS CITY COUNCIL that this resolution shall take effect from the date of its passage.
