A RESOLUTION concerning
City Council and Standing Committee Meetings - Electronic Participation
WHEREAS, Alderwoman Finlayson will be unable to attend in person City Council and Standing Committee meetings for several weeks commencing March 29, 2018; and
WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to authorize Alderwoman Finlayson to participate in City Council and Standing Committee meetings via electronic communications equipment for the period of time she is unable to attend meetings in person; and
WHEREAS, the City of Annapolis MIT staff have the ability to enable Alderwoman Finlayson to participate in City Council and Standing Committee meetings via electronic equipment that permits two-way, real time communication; and
WHEREAS, the electronic communications equipment utilized for these meetings will enable the City Council and Standing Committees to continue to convene meetings as scheduled for the purpose of conducting City business and for seeking recognition, obtaining the floor, submitting motions in writing, determining the presence of a quorum and taking and verifying votes; and
WHEREAS, the City Council and Standing Committee meetings which are the subject of this Resolution shall be held in compliance with the Maryland Open Meetings Act
NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE ANNAPOLIS CITY COUNCIL that the City Council authorizes Alderwoman Finlayson to attend City Council meetings via electronic communications commencing March 29, 2018 until she is able to verify her ability to attend in person.
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY THE ANNAPOLIS CITY COUNCIL that this resolution shall take effect from the date of its passage.
