A RESOLUTION concerning

Classic Wooden Boat Rendezvous & Race - Docking Fee Waiver

FOR the purpose of waiving docking fees at the Annapolis City Dock for participants of the 2019 Classic Wooden Boat Rendezvous & Race.

WHEREAS, the 11th Annual Classic Wooden Boat Rendezvous & Race will take place on September 21-22, 2019; and

WHEREAS, the Annapolis Waterfront & Sailing Center is hosting the Rendezvous and East Port Yacht Club is running the Race; and

WHEREAS, the informal gathering of 19-23 boats will be providing the general public with a special event at City Dock; and

WHEREAS, the boats will be using the North Face of the Susan Campbell Park riparian rights and the short dock in the basin (the dock between the North Face of Susan Campbell Park and the State Dock) for the Classic Wooden Boat Rendezvous; and

WHEREAS, the Annapolis Waterfront & Sailing Center is dedicated to celebrating, sharing and enhancing Annapolis's maritime heritage by inclusively engaging residents, students, visitors and the entire community in universally accessible boating, boating in education, and Chesapeake Bay stewardship; and

WHEREAS, the Annapolis Waterfront & Sailing Center is a non-profit entity, which has requested a waiver of docking fees at City Dock to include pre-event setup and post-event breakdown from September 20 through 23, 2019; and

WHEREAS, the City of Annapolis, in recognition of the Annapolis Waterfront & Sailing Center's mission, to promote historical maritime education by inclusively engaging residents, students, visitors and the entire community in universally accessible boating, boating in education, and Chesapeake Bay stewardship, wishes to waive docking f...
