A RESOLUTION concerning
Director of Planning and Zoning - Sally Nash, Ph.D., AICP
FOR the purpose of expressly confirming the appointment of Dr. Nash as the Director of Planning and Zoning; and consenting to compensate the Director.
WHEREAS, the Annapolis City Code, Section 3.08.030.F.1(viii) provides that the appointment and initial salary for the Director of Planning and Zoning is subject to confirmation by the City Council; and
WHEREAS, the Director of Planning and Zoning position became vacant on February 1, 2020; and
WHEREAS, Tricia Hopkins, Human Resources Manager of the City of Annapolis, conducted a thorough review of Dr. Nash’s qualifications and determined in her professional opinion that Dr. Nash’s qualifications exceed the minimum requirements of the Annapolis Charter and that Dr. Nash by virtue of her background, education and experience is more than qualified to hold the position of Director of Planning and Zoning; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to the foregoing City Code provision, the City Council is required to expressly consent to the confirmation and compensation of the Director of Planning and Zoning.
NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE ANNAPOLIS CITY COUNCIL that Tricia Hopkins, Human Resources Manager of the City of Annapolis, conducted a thorough review of Dr. Nash’s qualifications and determined in her professional opinion that Dr. Nash’s qualifications exceed the minimum requirements of the Annapolis Charter and that Dr. Nash by virtue of her background, education and experience is more than qualified to hold the position of Director of Planning and Zoning.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY THE ANNAPOLIS CITY COUNCIL that the City Council expressly confirms the appointment of Dr. Nash to the position of Director of Planning and Zoning and consents to compensate Dr. Nash as Director of Planning and Zoning in the amount of $149,467 per annum.
