City Council Meetings - Order of Business
FOR the purpose of modifying the order of business for regular and special meetings of the City Council.

SECTION I: BE IT ESTABLISHED AND ORDAINED BY THE ANNAPOLIS CITY COUNCIL that the Code of the City of Annapolis shall be amended to read as follows:
Title 2 - ADMINISTRATION
Chapter 2.16 - CITY COUNCIL
Section 2.16.010 - Time of meetings.
The regular monthly meeting of the City Council shall take place at seven p.m. on the second Monday in each month except that the City Council shall have no regular monthly meeting during the month of August. Special meetings may be called by the Mayor. No public hearing before the council shall commence after ten-thirty p.m. No item of business shall be taken up or acted upon by the council unless that item is under consideration by eleven p.m. The times specified in this rule may be changed at any time by a majority vote.
Section 2.16.030 - Order of businessAGENDA.
A. The REGULAR MONTHLY MEETING agenda OF THE CITY COUNCIL shall include: ROLL CALL; APPROVAL OF AGENDA; APPROVAL OF CONSENT CALENDAR; APPROVAL OF JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS; LEGISLATIVE ACTIONS; AND BUSINESS AND MISCELLANEOUS.the following categories at all regularly scheduled meetings of the City Council. The Mayor or the Mayor's designee, with the consent of the City Council, may arrange the agenda in any order necessary to accomplish the City's business in the most expeditious manner possible:
1. Roll call;
2. Approval of agenda;
3. Petitions, reports and communications;
4. Approval of consent calendar;
54. Approval of journal of proceedings;
6. Public hearings;
75. Legislative actions;
86. Business and miscellaneous.
B. The order of business at all special meetings AGENDA of the City Council shall INCLUDE: ROLL CALL; APPROVAL OF AGENDA; PETITIONS, REPORTS, AND COMMUNICATIONS; APPROVAL OF CONSENT CALENDAR; PUBLIC HEARINGS; AND BUSINESS AND MISCELLANEOUS. be as established by the Mayor or the Mayor's designee.
1. ROLL CALL;
2. APPROVAL OF AGENDA;
3. PETITIONS, REPORTS AND COMMUNICATIONS;
4. APPROVAL OF CONSENT CALENDAR;
5. PUBLIC HEARINGS;
6. BUSINESS AND MISCELLANEOUS.
THE ORDER OF BUSINESSAGENDA OF A REGULAR OR SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL MEETING MAY BE ARRANGED IN ANY ORDER NECESSARY TO ACCOMPLISH THE CITY'S BUSINESS IN THE MOST EXPEDITIOUS MANNER POSSIBLE BY A MAJORITY VOTE.
Section 2.16.045 - Suspending order of business AGENDA.
The order of businessAGENDA may be suspended at any time by a majority vote.
SECTION II: AND BE IT FURTHER ESTABLISHED AND ORDAINED BY THE ANNAPOLIS CITY COUNCIL that this ordinance shall take effect from the date of its passage.
