AN ORDINANCE concerning
Sidewalk Signs
FOR the purpose of extending the DATE FOR SUBMISSION OF A SIDEWALK SIGN PERMIT APPLICATION AND A sidewalk sign permit fee waiver to a date certain.
BY repealing and re-enacting with amendments the uncodified provision of O-30-19, Section II of the ordinances of the Annapolis City Council, 2019
WHEREAS, O-42-18 authorized sidewalk signs with certain conditions; provided a definition of "sidewalk sign"; and provided for a delayed effective date of the sidewalk sign permit fee.
WHEREAS, O-30-19 authorized the Director of Planning and Zoning to revoke or suspend a sign permit approval in certain circumstances; and provided for a delayed effective date of the sidewalk sign permit fee.
WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to extend the sidewalk sign permit fee waiver set forth in the uncodified provision of O-30-19, Section II to a date certain to allow applicants additional time to bring their applications into compliance with the sections of the Annapolis City Code that regulate sidewalk signs.
SECTION I: BE IT ESTABLISHED AND ORDAINED BY THE ANNAPOLIS CITY COUNCIL that Ordinance 30-19, Section II of the Annapolis City Council shall be amended to read as follows:
SECTION II: AND BE IT FURTHER ESTABLISHED AND ORDAINED BY THE ANNAPOLIS CITY COUNCIL that the sidewalk sign permit fee shall be waived for 180 days commencing upon the adoption of Ordinance 42-18 UNTIL MAY 1, 2020 THE DATE FOR SUBMISSION OF A SIDEWALK SIGN PERMIT APPLICATION AND THE SIDEWALK SIGN FEE WAIVER SHALL BE EXTENDED UNTIL JANUARY 1, 2021.
