A RESOLUTION concerning

Director of Public Works - Michael Johnson, P.E.

FOR the purpose of expressly confirming the appointment of Michael Johnson as the Director of Public Works; and consenting to compensate the Director.

WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 3.08.030.F of the Annapolis City Code, the appointment and initial salary of the Director of Public Works is subject to confirmation by the City Council; and

WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works position became vacant on February 1, 2020; and

WHEREAS, Tricia Hopkins, Human Resources Manager of the City of Annapolis, conducted a thorough review of Mr. Johnson's qualifications and determined in her professional opinion that Mr. Johnson's qualifications exceed the minimum requirements of the Annapolis Charter and that Mr. Johnson by virtue of his background, education and experience is more than qualified to hold the position of Director of Public Works; and

WHEREAS, pursuant to the foregoing City Code provision, the City Council is required to expressly consent to the confirmation and compensation of the Director of Public Works.

NOW, THEREFORE,

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE ANNAPOLIS CITY COUNCIL that Tricia Hopkins, Human Resources Manager of the City of Annapolis, conducted a thorough review of Mr. Johnson's qualifications and determined in her professional opinion that Mr. Johnson's qualifications exceed the minimum


requirements of the Annapolis Charter and that Mr. Johnson by virtue of his background, education and experience is more than qualified to hold the position of Director of Public Works.
