Filing of Grant Application with the Maryland Transit Administration

FOR the purpose of authorizing the filing of an application with the Maryland Transit Administration of the Maryland Department of Transportation for a Section 5303, 5304, 5307, 5309, 5310, 5311, 5316 and/or 5317 grant(s) under the Federal Transit Act for a total amount of $3,890,545, consisting of $2,554,554 for fixed route transit operations; $215,232 for ADA complementary paratransit services; $427,500 capital grant for transit vehicle maintenance; and $693,259 capital grant for the purchase of two (2) heavy duty buses for replacement purposes.


WHEREAS, the Maryland Transit Administration is the designated recipient in Maryland for grants under the Federal Transit Act; and

WHEREAS, the Administrator of the Maryland Transit Administration of the Maryland Department of Transportation is authorized to make grants to counties and to local governments for public transportation programs or projects; and

WHEREAS, the contract for financial assistance will impose certain obligations upon the applicant, including the provision by it of the local share of the project costs in the program; and
