A RESOLUTION concerning

Director of Planning and Zoning - Michael La Place, AICP, PP

FOR the purpose of expressly confirming the appointment of Michael La Place as the Director of Planning and Zoning; and consenting to compensate the Director.

WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 3.08.030.F of the Annapolis City Code, the appointment and initial salary of the Director of Planning and Zoning is subject to confirmation by the City Council; and

WHEREAS, the Director of Planning and Zoning position became vacant on November 4, 2021; and

WHEREAS, Tricia Hopkins, Human Resources Manager of the City of Annapolis, conducted a thorough review of Mr. La Place's qualifications and determined in her professional opinion that Mr. La Place's qualifications exceed the minimum requirements of the Annapolis Charter and that Mr. La Place by virtue of his background, education and experience is more than qualified to hold the position of Director of Planning and Zoning; and

WHEREAS, pursuant to the foregoing City Code provision, the City Council is required to expressly consent to the confirmation and compensation of the Director of Planning and Zoning.

NOW, THEREFORE,

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE ANNAPOLIS CITY COUNCIL that Tricia Hopkins, Human Resources Manager of the City of Annapolis, conducted a thorough review of Mr. La Place's qualifications and determined in her professional opinion that Mr. La Place's qualifications exceed the minimum requirements of the Annapolis Charter and that Mr. La Place by virtue of his background, education and experience is more than qualified to hold the position of Director of Planning and Zoning.
