AN ORDINANCE concerning

Planning Commission - Expanding Commission Membership

FOR the purpose of expanding the number of Planning Commission members from seven members to nine; creating criteria for two of the members; and generally related to the Planning Commission.

BY repealing and reenacting with amendments the following portions of the Code of the City of Annapolis, 2022 Edition
21.08.030

SECTION I: BE IT ESTABLISHED AND ORDAINED BY THE ANNAPOLIS CITY COUNCIL that the Code of the City of Annapolis shall be amended to read as follows:

Title 21 - PLANNING AND ZONING
Chapter 21.08 - Decision Making Bodies and Officials
Section 21.08.030 - Planning Commission.

B. Membership. The Planning Commission shall consist of seven residents of the City who have a demonstrated interest with regard to planning policy and with regard to land use matters and procedures of the City. The members shall be appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by the City Council.
B. Membership.
1. The Planning Commission shall consist of nine members:
a. Who are City residents and have a demonstrated interest in city planning policy, land use matters, and City procedures; and
b. Two members shall be residents of government-subsidized housing or have incomes below the Average Median Family Income for the City as determined by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development's Office of Policy Development and Research.
