A RESOLUTION concerning

Housing Authority of the City of Annapolis -
Payment in Lieu of Property Taxes Agreement

FOR the purpose of approving a Payment in Lieu of Property Taxes Agreement between the City of Annapolis and the Housing Authority of the City of Annapolis, Maryland.

WHEREAS, HACA is a public body corporate and politic of the State of Maryland (the "State"), incorporated with the approval of the City, pursuant to provisions of the Constitution of the State and under the Housing and Community Development Article of the Annotated Code of Maryland (the "Housing Article"); and

WHEREAS, HACA is authorized and empowered, among other things to (a) lease to others any or all of its projects, to charge and collect rent and to terminate any lease; (b) sell, exchange, contract and convey to others any or all of its projects or properties upon terms and conditions as HACA may deem advisable, including the power to receive for any sale the note or notes of the purchaser of the project or property, whenever HACA finds the action to further advance the interest of HACA; (c) contract with and employ others to provide and to pay compensation for professional services and other services as HACA deems necessary for the financing of a project; and (d) enter into contracts and execute any agreements or instruments and do any other act necessary or appropriate to carry out its purpose; and

WHEREAS, real property owned by HACA is exempt from State and City property taxes pursuant to ? 7-215 of the Tax-Property Article of the Annotated Code of Maryland (the "Tax-Property...
