A RESOLUTION concerning

Director of Public Works - Burr Vogel

FOR the purpose of expressly confirming the appointment of Burr Vogel as the Director of Public Works for the City of Annapolis; and consenting to compensate the Director.

WHEREAS, The Annapolis City Council is considering the appointment of Burr Vogel as Director of Public Works;

WHEREAS, The Director of Public Works position became vacant on July 1, 2023; and

WHEREAS, Tricia Hopkins, Human Resources Manager of the City of Annapolis, conducted a thorough review of Mr. Vogel's qualifications and determined in her professional opinion that Mr. Vogel's qualifications exceed the minimum requirements of the Annapolis Charter and that Mr. Vogel, by his background, education and experience, is more than qualified to hold the position of Director of Public Works; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Vogel is an experienced civil engineer with 26 years of experience directing all aspects of engineering, construction, and facilities management, as well as creating and implementing innovative organizational development initiatives to achieve the highest quality and most cost-effective outcomes; and

WHEREAS, From 2021 to 2022, Mr. Vogel was a senior project executive at Jacobs Technology in Bangor, Washington, leading a staff of 230 and providing facility operation, maintenance, and repairs at Naval Base Kitsap, which contains 970 buildings and nine million square feet of facilities at the Bangor Trident Submarine Base, Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, and four additional outlying sites; and
