AN ORDINANCE concerning
TRANSPORTATION NETWORK SERVICES
FOR the purpose of imposing an assessment on Transportation Network Services for trips that originate in the City of Annapolis in accordance with the ANN. CODE OF MD., PUBLIC UTILITIES ARTICLE, Section 10-406.
BY adding the following portions to the Code of the City of Annapolis, 2014 Edition

SECTION I: BE IT ESTABLISHED AND ORDAINED BY THE ANNAPOLIS CITY COUNCIL that the Code of the City of Annapolis shall be amended to read as follows:

ARTICLE VI - TRANSPORTATION NETWORK SERVICES
SECTION 7.48.600 - DEFINITIONS.
WHENEVER ANY WORDS AND PHRASES ARE USED IN THIS ARTICLE, THE MEANINGS RESPECTIVELY ASCRIBED TO THEM IN ANN. CODE OF MD., PUBLIC UTILITIES ARTICLE, SHALL BE DEEMED TO APPLY TO SUCH WORDS AND PHRASES USED HEREIN.
SECTION 7.48.610 - ASSESSMENT OF FEES.
PURSUANT TO THE AUTHORITY OF AND SUBJECT TO THE TERMS OF SECTION 10-406 OF THE PUBLIC UTILITIES ARTICLE, COMMENCING ON JULY 1, 2016 AND CONTINUING UNTIL JUNE 30, 2017, A FEE OF $0.25 SHALL BE ASSESSED FOR EACH TRIP GENERATED BY A TRANSPORTATION NETWORK SERVICE COMPANY ORIGINATING IN THE CITY OF ANNAPOLIS. THIS FEE SHALL BE SET FORTH IN THE ANNUAL FEES SCHEDULE AND IS SUBJECT TO AMENDMENT. FUNDS RECEIVED FROM THESE ASSESSMENTS SHALL GO INTO THE TRANSPORTATION FUND.
SECTION II: AND BE IT FURTHER ESTABLISHED AND ORDAINED BY THE ANNAPOLIS CITY COUNCIL that this ordinance shall take effect from the date of its passage.
