A RESOLUTION concerning
 
Alcoholic Beverages - Election Days
 
FOR      the purpose of expressing the sense of the City Council concerning a proposed amendment to Article 2B, Section 11-401(b) of the Annotated Code of Maryland.
 
WHEREAS,      The General Assembly of Maryland has drafted a Bill Entitled "City of Annapolis - Alcoholic Beverages - Election Days; and
 
WHEREAS,      the purpose of that Bill is to add the City of Annapolis to the list of subdivisions in which a holder of an alcoholic beverage license may exercise all of the privileges conferred by that license on the day of any election in Annapolis; and
 
WHEREAS,      currently, Annapolis is one of two subdivisions in Maryland wherein a holder of an alcoholic beverage license may not exercise all of the privileges conferred by that license on the day of any election; and
 
WHEREAS,      the effective date of the Bill, should it be enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, shall be July 1, 2015.
 
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE ANNAPOLIS CITY COUNCIL that the City Council is strongly in favor of the proposed amendment to Article 2B, Section 11-401(b) of the Annotated Code of Maryland, which would add the City of Annapolis to the list of subdivisions in which a holder of an alcoholic beverage license may exercise all of the privileges conferred by that license on the day of any election in Annapolis.
