AN ORDINANCE concerning
Resilience Authority of Annapolis and Anne Arundel County -
Membership and Director Appointment Changes

FOR the purpose of revising certain requirements for membership of the Resilience Authority of Annapolis and Anne Arundel County; revising the process for appointment of the Resilience Authority Director; and generally relating to boards, commissions, and similar bodies.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments, the following portions of the Code of the City of Annapolis, 2026 Edition:
* Section 2.58.040(A)(1)
* Section 2.58.050

WHEREAS, The Resilience Authority of Annapolis and Anne Arundel County was established in 2021 through a partnership between Anne Arundel County and the City of Annapolis, following the Maryland General Assembly's passage of Senate Bill 457 (2020);

WHEREAS, On June 18, 2026, Anne Arundel County approved and enacted Bill No. 30-26, revising certain requirements with respect to the Resilience Authority's membership and its Director; and

WHEREAS, The City of Annapolis concurs with the changes made to the Resilience Authority by Anne Arundel County in Bill No. 30-26, and to ensure that the codes of both jurisdictions are consistent, the City wishes to adopt similar amendments to Chapter 2.58 of the City Code; now, therefore,

SECTION I: BE IT ESTABLISHED AND ORDAINED BY THE ANNAPOLIS CITY COUNCIL that the Code of the City of Annapolis shall be amended to read as follows...
