AN ORDINANCE concerning

Maritime Industry Economic Development Fund

FOR the purpose of establishing a Maritime Industry Economic Development Fund to promote, stabilize, and protect the maritime industry in the City of Annapolis; and generally dealing with maritime development in the City.

BY repealing and reenacting with amendments the following portions of the Code of the City of Annapolis, 2024 Edition

BY enacting with amendments the following portions of the Code of the City of Annapolis, 2024 Edition
6.30.030

WHEREAS, In 1989, the City Council adopted O-51-88, which authorized the Maritime Advisory Board along with a "Maritime Industry Economic Development Fund" which would be funded with "a portion of the slip tax and a City bonding capacity not to exceed 1.5 Million Dollars" with the money to be used for purchasing appraisals and surveys for 1) the acquisition of easements and development rights in the maritime districts, and 2) purchasing the development rights of non-maritime use in the maritime districts; and

WHEREAS, The Maritime Advisory Board was implemented in the City Code, and one of the board's duties includes providing "advice to the City concerning the administration of the maritime industry economic development fund as created by Ordinance O-51-88 Revised, adopted March 13, 1989"; and

WHEREAS, The Maritime Industry Economic Development Fund was never established; and
