A RESOLUTION concerning

Designating City Attorney Anthony P. Kupersmith as the Resident Agent for Services of Process

 

FOR                     the purpose of designating a resident agent for service of process under certain circumstances; and matters generally relating thereto.

 

WHEREAS,                      Pursuant to the Md. Local Government Code Ann. § 1-1301 each governmental entity shall have a resident agent who is a resident of the State; a Maryland corporation; or an officer of the governmental entity; and

 

WHEREAS,                     A governmental entity shall designate or change its resident agent by filing for record with the State Department of Assessments and Taxation; and

 

WHEREAS,                     The Office of Law includes the general counsel for the City of Annapolis, who is designated as the City Attorney; and

 

WHEREAS,                     The current City Attorney for the City of Annapolis is Anthony P. Kupersmith, who qualifies to be resident agent because he is an officer of the governmental entity.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE ANNAPOLIS CITY COUNCIL that the individual authorized to accept service of process on behalf of the City of Annapolis is the current City Attorney, Anthony P. Kupersmith. 

 

AND, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY THE ANNAPOLIS CITY COUNCIL that Anthony P. Kupersmith is specifically named as the current resident agent duly authorized to accept service of process for the City of Annapolis.

 

AND BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED BY THE ANNAPOLIS CITY COUNCIL that this resolution shall take effect upon passage.
