FOR the purpose of clarifying who is eligible to apply for a rental unit license; providing certain definitions; and generally relating to rental licenses.
BY repealing and reenacting with amendments the following portions of the Code of the City of Annapolis, 2022 Edition
17.44.110
SECTION I: BE IT ESTABLISHED AND ORDAINED BY THE ANNAPOLIS CITY COUNCIL that the Code of the City of Annapolis shall be amended to read as follows:

Chapter 17.44 - RENTAL UNIT LICENSES
17.44.110 Definitions.
A. "Applicant" means a person who executes the forms required for obtaining a rental operating license pursuant to this chapter.
B. "Licensee" means a person who obtains a rental operating license from the City.
C. "Local Property Manager" means a person who acts as the legally authorized representative and agent of a licensee and who has a primary residence or office at a physical location in the City.
D. "Owner" OR "PERSON" means any person AN INDIVIDUAL who alone, jointly, or severally with other individuals holds legal or equitable title to any premises IN THEIR OWN NAMES AND SHALL NOT INCLUDE A CORPORATE OR BUSINESS ENTITY OF ANY TYPE.
E. "Person" means an individual or any legal entity in which an individual has an ownership or beneficial interest.
FE. "Premises" means only those types of dwellings, dwelling units, bed and breakfast homes, hotels, motels, and inns listed in Section 17.44.010 that are required to be licensed pursuant to this chapter.
