FOR the purpose of establishing the Police Advisory Board; authorizing the powers and duties of the Board; and matters generally relating to the Police Advisory Board.
BY adding the following portions to the Code of the City of Annapolis, 2018 Edition

SECTION I: BE IT ESTABLISHED AND ORDAINED BY THE ANNAPOLIS CITY COUNCIL that the Code of the City of Annapolis shall be amended to read as follows:
TITLE 2- ADMINISTRATION
Chapter 2.48 - Boards, Commissions and Committees
Article XVI - Police Advisory Board
Section 2.48.500 - Established.
There is established a Police Advisory Board to advise the Police Chief on matters pertaining to the Annapolis Police Department. These matters include, but are not limited to, the direction of the agency, policies and procedures, and crime issues.
Section 2.48.510 - Composition.
The Police Advisory Board shall consist of ten, uncompensated members selected by the Police Chief. The members shall be a diverse group of Annapolis residents. Each member shall serve on the Board for three years.
Section 2.48.520 - Duties.
A. The Board shall act in an advisory capacity to the Police Chief and/or his designees. The Board shall review, evaluate, and make recommendations to the Police Chief and/or his designees concerning:
1. Policies and procedures of the Police Department;
2. Crime reduction strategies;
3. Cooperative programs between the Department and the community.
B. Members of the Board shall be responsible for providing information to their respective communities...
