A RESOLUTION concerning

David A. Jarrell

FOR the purpose of recognizing the dedication and professionalism of David A. Jarrell in his capacity as Director of the Department of Public Works from December 2010 to January 2017.

WHEREAS, David A. Jarrell was the Director of the Department of Public Works for the City of Annapolis from December 2010 to January 2017; and

WHEREAS, while representing the City as the Director of the Department of Public Works, Mr. Jarrell is credited with many accomplishments on behalf of our citizens, including managing the important day-to-day and emergency operations of the Public Works department for activities such as trash and recycling collection, and street cleaning; efficiently preparing for each and every snowstorm, successfully resolving the construction issues and the opening of the Market House; initiation of the City-wide sidewalk repair program; repairing the Annapolis Dam at Waterworks Park; installing 700 linear feet of bulkhead at City Dock on schedule and $1 million under budget; installing a new heating system boiler in City Hall and a new air conditioning system and backup electrical generator; construction of new and modern water treatment plant; successfully increasing the solid waste to recycling diversion rate; consolidating and centralizing City-wide fleet maintenance at a savings to the City; initiating an asset management plan and initiation of the American Public Works Association accreditation process; along with a multitude of other accomplishments; and
